July 13th evening I started my initial work on the dome. Without telescope, I simply connected the dome with my computer (Prism v9 software) to play with the Dome Tracker (http://www.shelyak.com/). Very easy to use, I first ran the configuration software to test the connection and dome rotation, then find the initial parameters:
-one complete turn takes about 3 minutes
-I have around 7500 coder steps in one turn
It was fun to play with a telescope simulator and move the dome around the sky! It was also a great opportunity to make some nice pictures under the starry night - simple 20sec exposures on a tripod:
